Zafar wanted a challenge. He wanted to learn and improve his mental health.
Above all, he wanted to prove that learning has no age limit and can be a powerful tool for self-improvement.
In an ever-increasing digital world and lacking the skills to navigate it, Zafar knew IT would tick all the boxes.
He started his journey with BAES in 2022 on a beginner’s course. Despite the challenges of navigating an unfamiliar field, his determination never wavered, and he continuously pushed himself to overcome obstacles with a positive attitude.
Zafar successfully passed his Level 1 Essential Digital Skills exam this academic year and progressed onto a Level 2 Computer Skills course in January. There is nothing stopping him now!
Beyond personal skill development, his enthusiasm and resilience have been truly inspiring to both his peers and teacher. Zafar has become part of a learning community.
In Zafar’s own words:
“I believe that acquiring skills and knowledge is the key to opening doors to a better life in education and work. Being the oldest student in the IT class at the age of 75 years old I am having a great time learning new skills!”
Zafar has embraced technology and now has greater confidence and independence. His commitment to learning demonstrates incredible perseverance and a true growth mindset.
Zafar has proved age is not a limit to learning.
