Building skills and confidence
Shakil’s journey with BAES is an inspiring story of creativity, confidence and compassion.
A dedicated learner, he has taken part in courses including English, maths, art and jewellery making, showing a strong commitment to developing academic and creative skills.
He joined BAES to build essential life skills, particularly communication and maths, helping him gain confidence in everyday situations. With a passion for graphic design and illustration, Shakil recognised the importance of these foundations in supporting his creative ambitions and approaches learning with focus, determination and a positive attitude.
Using creativity to make a difference
Creativity is at the heart of everything he does. Shakil produces detailed illustrations, paintings and animations, sharing many of his creations on TikTok. He also designs his own clothing with a distinctive personal logo.
Shakil has used his talents to promote inclusion and awareness, designing posters for International Women’s Day, Black History Month, the Poppy Appeal and Autism Awareness, a cause close to his heart.

Growing in confidence
Once shy and quiet, Shakil has grown in confidence, forming friendships and contributing warmly in class.
With aspirations to work with adults with autism, his future is driven by creativity, empathy and a genuine desire to make a difference.
