History Club: The Formation of the Labour party and how it changed the political system
In a time of turbulent politics in the UK we will look at the formation of what was then the working-class party. The Labour Party challenged what had been for over 2 centuries a two-party system of the Liberals and the Conservatives. We will explore how its formation in the early 20th century was a slow success, which changed the outlook for voters historically.
This workshop is free of charge. However, we will be having a collection for our chosen Term 1 Charity at the end the session.
All cash donations are greatly appreciated.
To help us plan for the workshops please book in advance at Brasshouse reception or by e-mailing brasshousecentre@baes.ac.uk
Venue: Brasshouse Centre, 1st floor – Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square B1 2ND
