Exceeding expectations

  • 2 min read

Having completed a degree, Sireena always knew she wanted to continue studying and improving her skills, but she was unsure what to do next.

She spent time away from education to consider her options.

She didn’t want to jump straight back onto a postgraduate course; instead, Sireena chose to enrol onto the Level 2 Counselling Skills course.

Sireena has learned so much about herself on the course. She has enjoyed meeting new people and all the challenges; each week, she tried her best to develop her skills, dedicating long hours to a course for which she cares deeply.

Sireena’s considerable efforts have been noticed, much to her surprise. She has exceeded expectations in her academic work, which is always thorough and well-detailed. There is consistent evidence of wider learning and reading, with her understanding clearly demonstrated in class and assessments. She is always willing to support her peers in their work and classroom activities.

Her goal, as it always has been, is to support people, and to promote equality and independence. This is a goal Sireena embodies every day as a SEND teaching assistant. Because of her commitment to the counselling course, she has reaped the rewards, making great strides in self-improvement. She has gained more skills, and she is more confident to support people.

Sireena is now ready for the next stage of her journey.
