Favour’s Story

Resilience and commitment

Favour’s journey is a powerful reminder that determination can shine through even the most challenging circumstances.

Recently finished studying GCSE maths online, she has shown exceptional resilience and commitment to her education. Last year, Favour began a GCSE maths course, but a serious illness meant she was unable to continue. Rather than giving up, the first chance she got, she returned to her studies, with a renewed determination.

Learning through adversity

Studying online has given Favour the flexibility to balance her education alongside her treatment. She planned her tasks, completed every assignment independently, and consistently stayed on top of her work. Through sustained effort, she was able to take real ownership of her learning and built a steady routine that supported her progress.

She also communicated proactively with her tutor whenever hospital appointments affected her schedule, coordinating updates to deadlines and adjusting study plans accordingly. This proactive approach helped her stay fully engaged with the course and to maintain momentum, ensuring she continued to meet her goals despite the interruptions.

“In hard times, I have found myself wanting to be back in the classroom.”

Looking ahead

Alongside her academic achievements, she is a highly valued member of the learning community. Having approached every lesson with kindness, positivity, and respect for others, she has inspired her classmates and tutors

Despite the challenges of continuing her education while undergoing treatment, Favour remains focused on achieving her goals.
